Not to get all religious here... but I remember one time discussing the crucifixion of Christ with another Christian one time. They swore up and down that there is no way that if they had been a Roman soldier that they would have helped kill a man who's only crime was speech that the "leaders" of His time felt was unacceptable. What has been going on over the last 15 days to flatten the curve shows all too well that none of us are incapable of becoming the monster.

If it was the dems after a faked election there would have been REAL rioting, REAL fires set, REAL (on purpose) killings. --- Watch Senator Cruz questioning of the FBI in regards to January 6th. They have identified a FBI agent, Epps, that was instigating disruption. --- There seem to be people in charge of the money for the truckers that seem to be troublemakers. Watch (something) Polly, or Polly (something)s podcast from this morning. I pray she's wrong, I don't think she is. --- What would I have done in Nazi Germany? My fat, dumb, ass would have spoken up and been sent to the camps to be killed.

I'll be in the camp with you. We'll have a party.

Those who dislike dems but withhold votes from repubs should understand that actively helps the dems. Either dem or repub will win almost every race, unless you're in a precinct of oddballs who dislike everyone. They don't matter, at all, to anyone but themselves. Maybe not even to themselves. So the math isn't absolute numbers of votes, but the difference in votes. If only two people vote, and one votes d and the other r, it's a tie. If a single voter withheld their vote, that would have been the deciding vote. Same math applies if a million voted for each candidate. The one withheld vote would have decided it.

We don't get to vote for a perfect candidate and a heinous candidate. It's always two people who want to rule us, and carry all the imperfections you would expect. But one is always better. It's up to each of us to choose the best of the available choices, not whine about the third party kook who was robbed. The way to deal with unsatisfactory choices is to work on improving the choices. Our political responsibility isn't to cast an occasional vote and head for the bar. We all have a duty to participate in forming the policies, and vigilance of the officials to make sure they perform as expected. Don't give up. Give up and you lose. Don't support third party candidates. If they can't get support from one of the primary parties, they will lose. And their supporters also lose. Doesn't send a message. Doesn't even make the losers feel better. Successful democracy requires participation. Apathy always leads to tyranny.

I am basically a single-issue voter right now. If the politician is in favor of vaccine mandates, they will not get my vote, no matter which party.

My only issue is winning. Abstaining is equivalent to losing.

Keep in mind what they say they will do is seldom what they actually do. We need to consider the record, and encourage adherence to good policy. Single issues are unlikely to make anyone happy.

Vax mandates will be done before elections anyway. Too much evidence, too much resistance.
