Patriarchal Vaccine Mandates Aren’t the Only Answer to Covid
The writing website Medium banned this article and shut down my entire account over it.
This article was originally published on Medium on August 3, 2021. It quickly resulted in my entire account being banned. You can read about what happened here.
The COVID-19 Delta variant has, at best estimates, a 0.2% or less case fatality rate (CFR).
And yet, you’d think we were facing the kill-everyone-in-sight Andromeda Strain, or that bug from the film Contagion, MEV-1, which had a CFR of about 30%.
Europe is on the brink as thousands of protestors against vaccine mandates line the streets, scuffling with police. Australians are sending out ominous videos of police state actions in their country as lockdowns start: one showing a maskless old man walking outside in the park being cuffed and arrested despite having a mask exemption — he then had a seizure and suffered cardiac arrest on the spot due to the stress.
But the real fight isn’t over masks, it’s over forced vaccinations. Vaccines, vaccines, vaccines. We are bombarded daily with new finger wagging, mandates, and political posturing. New York City is becoming a No Unvaccinated Zone. Children are now being targeted for the new vaccine technology, despite only 340 dying of covid in the US in 2020/2021 as of July 28, 2021, according to the CDC. (In contrast, 831 children died of pneumonia while 187 died of the flu.)
The push for 100% covid vaccination is reaching an alarming zenith as politicians around the world actively seek to punish and shun those avoiding the shots.
Meanwhile, Big Tech is ruthlessly censoring, deplatforming, and silencing anyone who questions the almighty vaccination, as if doing so would lead to a covid holocaust of Biblical proportions. Even left-leaning scientists and podcasters like Bret Weinstein are being punished and silenced, for daring to discuss critical issues such as “regulatory capture” and whether or not our federal health agencies area really working for the people or for the pharmaceutical companies.
This is getting really ugly, and it could end up in multiple civil wars around the globe if the mandates and lockdowns push people too hard and into a state of desperation.
Enabling this growing tyranny are many well-meaning but generally underinformed people (due to said Big Tech censorship). They reason, “I didn’t have a vaccine side effect, therefore, the concern over covid vaccines is way overblown.” People who decide not to get vaccinated are portrayed as selfish, unscientific, or perhaps worse, rural Trump supporters (despite Trump touting himself as the “Father of the Vaccine” and a large percentage of blacks and Hispanics declining the shots).
(Sarcastic comment from an unvaccinated black friend of mine: You mean black people don’t trust the government with experimental shots? Now why on earth would that be?)
We’re being reassured (somewhat) that we won’t have full federal vaccine mandates in America (at least for now, and it’s likely unconstitutional), but that doesn’t stop politicians from implementing them on local levels or at least encouraging them. Other countries aren’t so lucky. I have a friend who lives in Pakistan. According to her, if you don’t get the covid vaccine there, you can’t renew your driver’s license.
This heavy-handed vaccine push is fueled by two main faulty assumptions:
1. The Vaccine Is “Safe and Effective” (IFFY)
The line that the vaccine is “safe and effective” is simply a whole lotta PR wrapped up in a bunch of nothing.
The actual data that we do have, whether it’s from CDC’s VAERS database or the UK Yellow Card Scheme, suggests that the current crop of covid vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca) are actually the most dangerous vaccines ever put on the market. They have potentially killed more people than all the vaccines combined in the past 30 years or so.
Rather than addressing this alarming data, the media generally ignores it. Or, influencers come up with all sorts of crazy conspiracy theories as to why the adverse event reporting is so high. (Let me ask you, why would Putin want to dissuade red states from taking vaccines? Wouldn’t this mean more votes for Democrats? Hmm.)
To respond to this ridiculousness, I’ll simply point you to this short video by Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying, and remark that Occam’s Razor applies here:
If a brand-new vaccine technology comes out that hasn’t been tested properly in trials, and a super high number of adverse reactions are being reported about said vaccine, it’s likely the new vaccine technology isn’t that safe. Period.
I want to make it clear that I am not anti-vaccine. I have, in fact, gotten the MMR vaccine as a protective against covid. I wish they had a safer vaccine to offer for covid. I am hopeful that Novavax may be safer, but it’s not out yet. (You can watch my video on Odysee where I speak about both the MMR and Novavax vaccines.)
I’ll go further to say that I believe certain high-risk groups such as the elderly may in fact get more benefit from the covid vaccine and thus the risk might be worth it for them. But young, healthy people? Especially children? Not so much.
2. The Only Way to Save People Is Via a Covid Vaccine (FALSE)
I’m not going to even get into all the potential shenanigans surrounding the censorship of ivermectin and other possible covid prophylactics. Bret Weinstein handles that topic quite well, and I recommend his podcast on Odysee and this article on the subject.
The fact is, we have a ton of highly safe, readily available, and easy to use anti-viral herbs and supplements that can and should be researched for their use in covid treatment. Used early on, they could potentially reduce hospitalization by a large margin.
But, god forbid you mention colloidal silver in relation to covid, or the FDA will be on your ass like a horny guy at a dance club.
This is myopic. There’s hardly any downside to herbs and supplements, and the upside is HUGE.
But you won’t hear that talk from the mainstream media or our Western politicians. You won’t hear them encouraging people to get their vitamin D levels checked. You won’t hear them suggest that the herb andrographis might help with covid, despite the Thai government’s successful study in relation to mild covid cases.
Here’s my point:
Vaccine mandates are the province of a decidedly Western way of thinking and a Western way of approaching medicine.
Western Medicine and Cultural Hubris
There’s a lot of talk lately about “cultural appropriation,” where we worry that a white woman teaching yoga is perhaps taking advantage of another culture.
As a white woman who teaches yoga and has a certification in Ayurveda, taught in part by native Indians who want Ayurveda to be shared around the world, I believe the idea of cultural appropriation is highly problematic. Gems of holistic wisdom such as Ayurveda, Unani Tibb, and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) need to be embraced worldwide, by people of all races.
I think a far better way to look at this is through the lens of cultural respect vs. cultural hubris.
I’ve known white males who taught traditional yoga teachings with reverence and care; this is not cultural appropriation but cultural respect.
On the other hand, women (of any race) who don a bikini and flaunt their scorpion pose with a crotch shot on Instagram are committing an act of cultural disrespect to the core teachings of yoga.
Now, people on both sides of the PC divide might take issue with me here, but bear with me. I do have a point to make. My observation is this:
Cultural hubris is what is pushing these covid vaccines. It stems from the idea that your culture is simply better than everyone else’s. And this is the problem with Western medicine. It presents itself as the only option worth listening to and respecting. Any alternatives, most of which come from indigenous cultures that are non-Western and non-European in origin, are branded as “pseudoscience.”
Additionally, religious groups, particularly Hasidic Jews, can be targeted for non-compliance with vaccinations.
Indigenous medical systems are often suppressed, and in fact, the British outright outlawed Ayurveda in India when they were in control of the country in the 1800s to the mid-1900s. Some of this colonial mindset still persists in India and Pakistan, but the government of India actually promotes alternative remedies for COVID-19 under its Ministry of Ayush.
For example, in the Ayush guidance for Ayurvedic Practitioners, tulsi, guduchi, and ashwagandha are all listed as immunity enhancers recommended for COVID-19 viral infection.
However, if I put that on my website (despite being a trained and board-certified Ayurvedic Practitioner), I risk the FDA going after me for “fraud.”
The Western cultural hubris and bias towards Western medicine extends to the dismissal and outright suppression of holistic alternatives to covid treatment, which the FDA has been quite busy doing.
You can see for yourself with this threatening letter that the FDA sent to Dr. David Jockers:
The FDA has observed that your website offers the products Super C, Vitamin D/K2, Zinc Charge, and ImmunoStrong Berry Liquid (labeled to contain elderberry and astragalus) for sale in the United States and that these products are intended to mitigate, prevent, treat, diagnose, or cure COVID-19 in people. Based on our review, these products are unapproved new drugs sold in violation of section 505(a) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), 21 U.S.C. § 355(a). Furthermore, these products are misbranded drugs under section 502 of the FD&C Act, 21 U.S.C. § 352. The introduction or delivery for introduction of these products into interstate commerce is prohibited under sections 301(a) and (d) of the FD&C Act, 21 U.S.C. § 331(a) and (d).
Seriously, FDA? This is what you spend your time and our taxpayer dollars on? I’d bet a good amount of money (if I had it) that this very protocol would actually demonstrate a reduction in covid symptoms if you actually did a study on it. And since when has anyone been hurt or killed by vitamin C, elderberry, or astragalus?
I, for one, have yet to see a rash of videos being shared of people who are literally shaking from head to toe due to herbal nerve damage, because it just doesn’t happen, unlike the countless horrifying videos I’ve seen of covid vaccine victims.
In fact, the FDA appears they have put quite a considerable amount of time and energy into writing threatening letters to holistic doctors sharing safe over the counter covid treatment protocols, while ignoring the safety signals in the VAERS database. Why?
(BTW, check out DrJockers.com and give them some love.)
Why Covid Vaccine Mandates are Patriarchal
I know some of my readers will roll their eyes at this, but bear with me. I’ve explained that Western medical science is seen as the de facto authority on health, and that alternatives are often suppressed and dismissed as pseudo-science.
Now I will explain why covid vaccine mandates are patriarchal. First, let me explain that I personally feel labeling everything patriarchal without any forethought is not that productive. I’m personally of the mindset that cancel culture has gotten a bit extreme and out of control. But in this case, I think the patriarchal label fits, and I want feminists to consider very carefully what they may be giving up here if they back covid vaccine mandates — that is, a right to your bodily autonomy.
A government that is given the power to mandate what gets put into your body is a government that can force you to carry a baby or conversely force you to abort it.
First, a “patriarchy” is typically defined as a world in which men rule. But I’m going to expand this definition to a world in which people in power declare they know better than their constituents and use threats or force to push their viewpoint on said constituents. In a word, it’s authoritarian.
Mandating that a substance must be put into a body means that each person no longer has bodily autonomy. This is patriarchal to the extreme. It makes us all medical slaves.
We also don’t get any choice with our covid vaccines. We have been told repeatedly to just get whichever vaccine is the first available. This means that people who are at higher risk of blood clots (such as woman on birth control or HRT) may not be able to choose a vaccine that is less likely to cause clotting. This is wrong.
Now, now, you might point to the vaccinations required to travel to a foreign country. We can get into the weeds here, but there is a difference between traveling for pleasure versus being able to go to the grocery store. Furthermore, those vaccines went through the years of safety testing required (unlike the covid vaccines) and don’t have the high amount of adverse reactions.
With all that said, the more they push covid vaccinations, the more I start to wonder if any vaccine mandates are more harmful than helpful. If we can get to the point where the people have no right to question the mandated vaccine — will we possibly get to the point where I might risk jail for writing an article like this? — maybe this is a slippery slope now. Maybe no mandates are better in the long run, despite some of the problems of viral spread.
At any rate, here’s where we are today.
Right now, the powers that be have decided that the new covid vaccines are the only answer to covid.
They have decided that they know what’s best for your body. That you should risk getting an undertested, possibly dangerous vaccination even if you are too young to really be at risk of covid or have other medical concerns that might make you more at risk of a vaccine.
They want to coerce (either through law or public shunning) a new vaccine technology onto people, despite the obvious safety signals.
The tricky thing they do is they say, “Everyone taking the vaccine will save lives!” — which thus gets a whole lot of people on board who haven’t really thought through the long-term consequences.
Look, if we’re just looking to reduce deaths overall, there are a lot of ways we can do that without vaccine mandates. We can reduce the speed limit, or ban cigarettes entirely, or completely take high-fructose corn syrup off the market. We can feed more starving children in third world countries and work to stop the opioid crisis.
Of course, those aren’t directly covid-related, but my point is, we choose which deaths we think are “preventable.”
But let’s talk about covid specifically. I firmly believe that vaccines aren’t the only way to mitigate covid deaths. We already have drugs that can help, we have herbs that can help. A simple program to give away vitamin D supplements to those most at risk of deficiency could go a long way towards reducing hospitalization.
Voluntary programs to help people lose weight, exercise more, and eat more healthy could go a long way towards reducing covid deaths. Heck, they’d go along way towards reducing deaths and medical costs, period.
But those programs aren’t going to line politicians’ pockets with donations from deep pocketed pharmaceutical companies.
