What's More Important to You: Right to Abortion or Right to Refuse Vaccines?

Is bodily autonomy on the chopping block on purpose? What do you think?

I posted the following as a comment on Dr. Paul Alexander’s recent post about how overturning Roe v. Wade is a “pyrrhic victory” (i.e., winning the battle but losing the war).

There's a viral YouTube video being shared by a young woman who basically says it's the left's fault for Roe v. Wade being overturned because they pushed too much and now want abortion up until birth.

It kind of sums up my feeling. I think abortion is wrong, but I'm not in favor of banning it in part because I favor bodily autonomy and medical freedom (I'm against vaccine mandates). But abortion activists have been going too far.

I used to march in pro-choice rallies when I was young, changed my heart, and now this "abortion on demand with no apology" mantra sickens me.

No-one has a right to murder a viable child, even if it's inside a woman's belly. Birth the child and adopt it out once it's feasible! This embracing of full-term abortion is what's really gotten me turned off by the pro-choice movement...and I'm thus not going to be favoring Democrats on this issue, even though I really don't like the Republican party either.

The short version of my answer is, I'm actually thinking the midterms are not a given for the Democrats whatsoever, despite Roe's demise.

Let me add to that comment that yes, I think the timing of Roe v. Wade being overturned might be intentional…perhaps to divide the country more, perhaps in part to help built a federal case for taking over people’s bodies from vaccines to abortions to psychiatric medicines…

But on the very simple side of “Democrats vs. Republicans,” if it weren’t this issue, it’d be something else. The Democrats are very very good at spotting some sort of issue and blowing it up into “it’s the end of the world” as a way to keep their base in line and accept compromised “leaders” like Biden.

The Democrats have a terrible economy to run off of, so they only have “INCOMING HANDMAID’S TALE!!!!” to run on.

So it’s no surprise that Democrats are going on about “rights” being taken away, and how the Supreme Court is “out of control.” Every single little decision will now be blown up into a massive crisis.

Except, the Democrats in power only care about certain rights. They don’t care about the right to free speech, or the right to refuse experimental vaccines, or the right to disagree with them.

Because the elite Democrats are in control of every major news outlet, every big tech company, every major entertainment company, and every federal agency it seems, I’m far more worried about them having too much power than I am about Republicans at this point.

At any rate, when push comes to shove, I, like almost everyone else, will vote based on self-interest. I’m not worried about getting pregnant but I am damn concerned about having an mRNA vaccine forced into my arm.

So I’m a one issue “anti-vaccine mandate” voter right now.
