Will the FDA’s Vaccine Approval and Booster Gamble Backfire?
The Health Titanic May Be Set to Full Speed Ahead…But Maybe We Can Turn It Around
I had predicted in my August 18 article, Don’t Double Down on Poor Health Policy, that the FDA would be approving the covid vaccines, come hell or highwater. Little did I know that prediction would come true just five days later. At the time I wrote the piece, the scuttlebutt had the FDA approving Pfizer sometime in September. Why the rush?
Certainly, the data does not support this whatsoever, and if you want a respected, mainstream source to share with friends, family members, and your doctors on this point, I recommend the op-ed from Peter Doshi, senior editor of the British Medical Journal, published the day of the Pfizer approval announcement. He writes:
Waning efficacy has the potential to be far more than a minor inconvenience; it can dramatically change the risk-benefit calculus. And whatever its cause—intrinsic properties of the vaccine, the circulation of new variants, some combination of the two, or something else—the bottom line is that vaccines need to be effective.
Until new clinical trials demonstrate that boosters increase efficacy above 50%, without increasing serious adverse events, it is unclear whether the 2-dose series would even meet the FDA’s approval standard at six or nine months.
Quite a few alarm bells should ring here. One, the vaccines become far less effective over time, and by “over time” we don’t mean years, but months. Two, we have no clue what will happen with a third shot, because adequate testing hasn’t been done (if at all).
So why did the FDA do something so completely reckless and approve the Pfizer covid vaccine ahead of schedule? Certainly, we can discuss the issue of likely regulatory capture – that our government health agencies are being run by the pharmaceutical companies they should be monitoring instead of by and for the people.
However, a hasty approval of a faulty product could end up causing big PR problems. Is there something else at play here?
Here’s one clue. In an MSN article about the Pfizer covid vaccine approval announcement, I noted with interest a paragraph about doctors now being allowed to recommend “off-label” vaccine boosters:
The FDA decision clears the way for the companies to market their vaccine, which is not permitted without full licensure. It may launch a race for booster shots, allowing doctors to prescribe extra Pfizer-BioNTech shots "off label" to anyone they think should get one.
Now, the FDA did something tricky with this approval. Officially, only the branded version of the Pfizer shot, “Comirnaty” (yes, it rhymes with “infirmity”) is approved. Except, we don’t have enough branded shots available, so because the original EUA vaccines are plentiful, those can be used instead. But legally, they aren’t actually approved…so, can they be mandated or used for boosters? Technically, perhaps not, but who will make the distinction in practice?
The FDA approval seems to have a lot to do with allowing boosters.
Is this really the motive? Were they only able to authorize booster shots with full FDA approval? So is it possible they just threw caution to the wind and decided to go full-speed ahead, despite scant to zero evidence the boosters would even help against delta or future covid variants?
The harsh reality: The data is showing that people who are vaccinated are dying in the UK and Israel. From an article titled BOMBSHELL UK data destroys entire premise for vaccine push:
From the 1st of February to the 2nd of August, the UK recorded 742 Delta deaths (yes, the dreaded Delta has not taken that much life).
Out of the 742 deaths, 402 were fully vaccinated. 79 had received one shot. Only 253 were unvaccinated.
To be clear, in both Israel and the UK, which have a very high percentage of the population vaccinated, the unvaccinated appear to be more likely to catch the virus, but the vaccinated, once they do catch the virus, are more likely to die from it. Yes, I have that correct.
The Pfizer mRNA vaccine, by the way, appears to be the fastest to fail.
So, what drove the FDA Pfizer approval? Did someone at the top see the failing vaccine data coming out of Israel and the UK, completely panic, and demand boosters to try to stem the coming tide of deaths of the vaccinated? Or is someone just trying to make money here?
Panic? Greed and/or stupidity? All of the above?
They Doubled Down on Bad Health Policy. What’s Going to Happen Next?
I suck at global predictions, but in this case, I think it’s safe to say we will see a large increase in medical tyranny. Whether you are vaccinated or not, please do whatever is feasible and within your power to stop vaccine mandates and passports. Write your representative, email companies that are mandating vaccines, and let your voice be heard.
I want to reiterate: I am not an anti-vaxxer. I am caught up on all my vaccines (including the shingles vaccine) except for covid.1 But we should not be forced to get vaccines. Especially covid vaccines that may have a very low benefit to risk ratio for most people. (It may be worth it for some. I respect your right to choose. This is between you, your doctor, and/or your maker.)
Things are looking dire for unvaccinated Americans right now – and for the unvaccinated in other countries as well. More and more companies as well as governments are mandating vaccinations. People are having to choose between their livelihoods and making the best decision for their personal health.
In New York City, vaccine passports apparently don’t even allow for medical exemptions. This is crazy.
With such imprudent health policies being normalized, people all over the world are under tremendous pressure to get vaccinated…via brand new technologies with inadequate testing, poor safety records, and questionable efficacy.
This poor vaccine performance is perhaps a small blessing. We’d be much harder pressed to fight vaccine mandates that required vaccines that truly were safe and effective.
The FDA Is Playing With Fire Here
Despite the grim outlook for health freedom, I think the medical “powers that be” have overplayed their hand here, perhaps.
I won’t be surprised to see the wheels start to come off the covid vaccine train soon. This whole thing could blow up in the FDA’s face spectacularly. If we’re lucky, this might help wake a lot of people up. I’m just sorry so many people have to get hurt unnecessarily. It didn’t have to be this way. They could have worked on covid therapeutics and only pushed vaccines for the high-risk.
Many well-meaning people have bought into a false story that the covid vaccines offer semi-permanent immunity and prevent the spread of covid. These folks, who have been bombarded with messaging (“everyone’s safer when everyone is vaccinated”) are generally trusting and don’t know the full story.
They are going to be super shocked and upset when they and their family members not only need ongoing boosters (I guarantee it won’t just be three)…but worse, some of these folks will still get sick, sometimes seriously sick, from covid.
This is not the time to point a finger at these people and mock them, but to help redirect their anger towards the government agencies and pharmaceutical companies that have failed them.
The Human Toll of Bad Public Health Policy
Ultimately, I think the reckless behavior of the FDA may end up doing more damage to their vaccine cause in the long run. I just don’t like the human toll this is going to take. I already know one person who developed neuropathy after a single Moderna shot.
(UPDATE—August 28, 2021: I learned late last night that the aunt of a good friend of mine, 90 years old but in excellent health, died less than 24 hours after a covid vaccine yesterday.)
Many people don’t know anyone who had a bad reaction to a covid vaccine, but I believe that is going to unfortunately change with booster shot number three.
Heck, it’s happening already with people now being forced to get vaccinated (despite their better judgment) in order to keep their jobs.
I just saw yet another sad vaccine regret video, this time by a young woman, apparently in her 20s, who was having a really bad reaction to her first covid vaccine shot. She didn’t want to take it; she said she did it for her son. She was crying and freaking out.
Difficulty breathing (dyspnea) was one of her symptoms, and she felt like she was going to pass out. With those side effects, she should have gone to an ER.
Let’s be clear: Dyspnea is not a normal side effect of a vaccine. It does not mean the vaccine is “working” and your body is making antibodies. It could be a sign of an anaphylactic reaction.
We’re sadly going to be seeing more vaccine regret videos like these and the FDA is unwittingly raising up an entire generation of anti-vaxxers. Once you personally experience a severe adverse reaction like this, it forever changes you.
Never mind how angry and betrayed people will feel if they are double or triple vaccinated and still end up in the hospital with covid.
Waking Up Is Hard to Do
People are starting to wake up, but in fits and starts.
Most did not expect booster shots and it’s put a seed of doubt in a lot of people’s minds.
For example, Bill Maher, politically left but very libertarian leaning, recently stated on his show that he didn’t want a booster and the “one-size-fits-all” approach to medicine wasn’t respectful of people’s bodily autonomy. Maher was right, but he was brow-beaten by a passionate but misguided guest who went on and on about the “collective good.” Maher, saying he “took one for the team,” caved. But he should have stood his ground.
This is the civil rights issue of our lifetime. Without bodily autonomy, we have no rights at all. Once they can jab you with a vaccine “for the collective good” they can put you on medications to affect your personality and behavior “for the collective good” and you can guess where that leads.
Those of us who are aware and see the writing on the wall need to do our best to educate our fellow citizens.
Unfortunately, in the United States, the media has successfully divided us such that many of our friends and family members think that choosing not to vaccinate is a partisan decision. They will have preconceived notions of you being “anti-science” or a “conspiracy theorist” or worse.
They have bought into the lie that taking the vaccine is for the collective good. It’s a hard argument to respond to unless you understand that the current vaccines do not prevent the spread of covid – which is where I’m guessing Bill Maher got stuck.
When speaking with friends and family, here are some simple points to make about the FDA “approved” covid vaccines:
1) Number one point: Covid vaccines are not sterilizing vaccines. You can still catch and spread covid after being fully vaccinated. Therefore, vaccine mandates and restrictions make no sense whatsoever.
2) Covid vaccines were not adequately tested and were rushed through.
3) Current covid vaccines wane in efficacy dramatically after four to six months.
4) We have no idea if covid vaccine boosters will work and if so, for how long, and against which variants.
5) Covid vaccines have the highest rate of adverse reactions ever reported in VAERS.
On that last bullet: Misleading talking points are being used to discredit VAERS. One of these talking points goes something like this: Supposedly the reason why reported death rates are so high for the covid vaccines is due to a “new” legal requirement for doctors to report any death following vaccination, but just for covid vaccines.
This is a lie. Please point people to the Wayback Machine at Archive.org, which shows clearly that doctors have always been required by law to report certain types of adverse reactions, especially death, for all vaccines.
For example, this snapshot of the Reporting Adverse Events page from September 2, 2015 says:
Healthcare providers are required by law to report:
Any adverse event listed by the vaccine manufacturer as a contraindication to further doses of the vaccine
Any adverse event listed in the VAERS Table of Reportable Events Following Vaccination2 that occurs within the specified time period after vaccination
Healthcare providers are encouraged to report:
Any adverse event that occurs after the administration of a vaccine licensed in the United States, whether or not it is clear that a vaccine caused the adverse event
Vaccine administration errors
This insidious discrediting of the CDC VAERS database is probably the number one reason why pro-vaccine people haven’t understood the full risks of these covid vaccines.
Unfortunately, they may learn all too late.
Is it now past the time where we won’t be able to stop vaccine mandates? I hope not. But don’t cave in just yet. The landscape may be very different in a few months.

As a footnote, I actually took the MMR vaccine in December of 2021 because of evidence it prevents severe covid. Unfortunately, I experienced a common side effect following the MMR vaccine: severe arthritis pain in my hands and other joint pain. My doctors aren’t taking the connection with the MMR vaccine seriously either, despite the clear casual relation. After this experience, I am now questioning whether I should be getting any vaccines at all. Furthermore, the more I learn about what goes into making vaccines, the more I’m having philosophical problems with them. Finally, the more they push the covid vaccines, the more alarmed I become about integrity at our federal health agencies. In short, the FDA/CDC right now is only helping me to become much wary of vaccines than I ever was in the past.
